Just bought a "cheap" $329.00 32" LCD for the kitchen and don't want to spend a lot for some extended warr. coverage. Anyone have a source they'd be willing to share? Thanks !

Personally I wouldn't bother. Most the time (IMO) if you're gonna have problems it usually falls within the factory warranty period. I haven't bought an extended warranty in years. Again, just my . 02

I used Square Trade for a Shanling CD a few years ago. When it had problems they immediately bought it back from me. No hassles. Spoke to them at length about a repair, but since it was not locally serviceble they just paid me for it in less than a day after they received the machine. When I bought the Lector CD as a replacement (and step up) I bought a new three year warranty from them. Price was less than 1/2 what I had seen other places.

I wouldn't bother with a $300 TV. If it were a $1500 TV, then maybe, but the hassle you will have to go through to get a a warranty claim will hardly be worth it.

I agree with these people - a warranty in this case is probably not warrented. Although, there are times that I get a warranty (not on electronics) just for the peace of mind.

If you are in fact looking for a warranty, I'll second squaretrade. They are a good, REPUTABLE company to deal with.

    Just an FYI, Item: LCD Flat-Panel TVs / Price: $329.00 / 3 year warranty / Your price:$44.99

If you feel that $15 a year is worth not having to worry about about what Murphy is up to, then by all means go for it. I've tipped more than $15 bucks for a couple of beers at the bar before just because I got excellent service - you will never notice it's gone (but you will the TV)

Extended warranties on electronics - and most items I would guess - are high profit margin sales for both the retailer who sells them and the warranty company - which should tell you something. Also, many extended warranties have many hidden exclusions where the item wouldn't be covered for one reason or another.
