Capturing Online Video

I need help trying to save an online video to the computer so it can be burned to DVD and replayed in a class-setting. It's on North Carolina history and the website has already been contacted and has okayed the idea, I just don't know how to go about it.

I was hoping it would be similar to a youtube video where Firefox's Download Helper add-on would grab it for me, but it's not. You have to fill out a questionnaire, and upon submitting it, the video will pop up in Windows Media Player (or presumably whatever you have set as default to open .WMV files).

So, it's not streaming so that programs like Download Helper can't get it. And there's no link to a .WMV file so right-clicking and saving won't do it. It just opens in WMP.

How can I grab this video? Is there a media program I can download and install and use as my default .WMV player to play this video, that will capture it?

I'm at a loss here as to how to do this, but Mom really wants to play it for a class she's teaching where she doesn't have internet access.

Any help would be appreciated!

Simple question. If you had a cool million bucks, what would you do with it?

Try either snag-it or camtasia. You basically record what is visible on the screen. I think that includes audio as well but I don't really remember. I used this for a project at work a couple years ago and it worked wonderfully! You can save it as a bunch of different file types depending on your needs.

    Good luck!
