Speaker Tweaks..........
Upgraded some Polk RT-10's.
Got my Crossovers back from Ben, still have a small problem with one speaker being louder than the other (Was this way before I had the crossovers done:frown:).
Ben put in some Sonic Caps Gen 1, with Mills resistors.
There is no limit to dynamics from this upgrade, "out of the box"!
Details galore as you can imagine.
I went ahead and tweaked the boxes.
[Installed some spikes, with some Parts Express sound dampening added using a Dynamat roller and some heat from a heat gun.
Added sound deadening to the box, top, sides and below the woofer internally in the box.
All I can say, right off, better bass, details, and speed.
And the caps are not even broken in yet, they have 0 hours!
NOT EVEN the same speakers!
Period!
Incredible bass, already.
I put foam spacers between the power port mounting points(pictured above the spikes).
16 of these Bastoids!
Didn't really matter as to the size, as they stuffed just fine in the holes.
Heres the sound damping part + factory foam stuffing (not in picture):
The crossovers:
Really freakin unbelievable!
Excellent extention already (on both ends).
These are NOT the same speakers as when I started and shipped the X-overs off to Ben!
He asked me to give them 100 hours breakin, but I cannot keep my mouth shut!
I have to say, Ben did an excellent job (both work perfectly, he had no way to test them as far as I know), wish I could solder like that (looks factory).
Crossover upgrades are WELL worth the money as I am sure alot of you can attest.
Its not called an "Upgrade" for nothing!
I assure you, these RT-10's are the very definition of the term!
Phenomenal already, and they are brand new crossovers (0 hours on the film caps)!

A pic of the original crossover with electrolytic & Mylar caps (look at the resistor):

Very nice. I am working on crossovers today as well! It really is a nice improvement over factory.

Looking good. When I upgraded my capacitors and resistors on my speakers, it sounded great right out of the box - as if in no breakin time what-so-ever. You will enjoy the new sound of these speakers for a long time.Statistics show that 98% of us will die at some point in our lifetime.
The other 2% will work for WalMart.
