hi folks, I've used my SDA 2A's while watching movies, but I get a big lag between peoples' mouths moving and the audio. This also happens if I just do it during tv viewing. Is this normal? Should I forget using my SDA's for HT? I have tried different vintage recievers and it's always the same result. The sound magnificent, but delayed.

The speakers have nothing to do with the sound delay. Check your TV or receiver manual for sync adjustment.

It does this from the BluRay player and digital cable box-both from RCA's.

Your television should have a sync option or adjustment for this very problem, depending on how new it is I guess.

Yep, your problem is electronic, and not in any way, shape, or form involved with the fact that SDA's are being used.

I am not taking the output from the tv, but I will give it a shot-after the game..

Oh sorry, must've misread. Either way, it's not the loudspeaker, good luck.

BTW, whatever the problem, I will not be parting with these. I just wondered if the SDA effect had something to do with my laggine issues.

No. The analog and digital sound outputs usually have some delay relative to each other.

Very weird, but I'd bet the farm it's not the SDA's if it only does it for video. I use my SDA's for all sorts of DVD's and TV shows. Not an issue.

This is a pretty common issue for people using analog cables into a receiver, although it happens with digital as well. It has to do with the time it takes to process the video. If your receiver or TV can't compensate for it, there are delay modules you can purchase that fix this. I saw a demo at a place called "the little guys" here in chicagoland. I had the issue with my Onkyo receiver, but not after I upgraded to the Pio Elite.

Here's what an option to fix it (or similar products): http://www.felston.com/dd540/

I had this problem for a while with my satellite receiver. The problem was with with the provider (Bell Canada). I could compensate with a setting in my Yamaha receiver. Eventually Bell provided a software fix and I haven't had this issue in well over a year. See if your receiver has a sync option. If not, well....good luck.

If viewing my LCD TV using the HDMI output from the Satellite receiver direct to the TV for video, and using digital audio out from the Sat. box to the Sunfire TG IV, there is a delay. If I use the composite video output from the Sat. box THROUGH the Sunfire to the TV, the delay goes away. It may be, as with my setup, if you are using one path for video, and another for audio, there is a delay. When I watch the TV and use the audio system for sound, I use the Sunfire for both audio and video. That way there is no delay.

Good point. I found the length of delay to be variable based on connection type.
