Monitor 40 vs. Monitor 40 series II

I haven't purchased speakers in a while but I won my fantasy football league this year and decided to treat myself to an upgrade of my old 5.1 receiver to a 7.2 and another pair of surrounds.
My question is this: Will I notice a real difference in my 5 year-old monitor 40's and a new pair of monitor 40 series II's? What's the difference in the series II's other than the new look? Thanks!
