Port facing floor?

I don't know if this thread would be perfect for this section, since I don't really have a question for necessarily the pro's, but more like a preference question, I guess you could call it.

Anyways, I'm thinking of getting the PSW125, since I'm a big movie and deep bass fan. But I noticed that the port faces the floor... Now, I live in an apartment. And by now your probably just ready to say "why not get a smaller sub if your worried about bothering your neighbors." Well, there are times when I do want to turn the bass up, like when the neighbors are gone, or I have friends over to watch movies or games, or stuff like that. So the fact that the port faces the ground leads me to think this will really carry the bass to their apartment? Have any of you guys used this in an apartment and had any problems? I'm just scared since the ports facing the ground everytime I even play my music quietly the neighbors will complain... So what are you guy's thoughts on this.

And lastly, with the port facing the ground, I don't see how that can improve the sound. If I were to crank it when the neighbors are gone, wont the air from the port just hit the ground and sound like horrible port noise? But I trust polk since they've been making quality speakers for a while now.

Any good input from you guys would be much appreciated. Thanks!

The port is not going to shoot sound through the floor any more than if it were on any other side of the box.

Just leave enough room so the port has room to "breathe" so it can effectively function as a port.

The sound will not transmit through the floor due to the air coming thorugh the port. More noticeably if you're concerned with your neighbors you can "de-couple" the sub from the floor and produce less vibrations as to disturb your neighbors.

If it does sound like you have port noise either the port is too close to the floor or extremely more likely, you're overdriving the sub.

Those answers sound good to me.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.
