My boss recently showed me how the stock market works...

And about 2.5 years ago when I had money (before the house) Ford stock was trading for 1.88!!!

Im just saying I could have well over 100,000 in free money right now but I didnt know how it worked and went on about my business...

*sigh*

Buddy, if we all had a crystal ball--we'd all be wealthy. The key is, now you know---invest.

Time is far more important than opportunity.

    I know...

But it is just so funny how one decision can make life so different.

My house would be paid in full - remodeling would be a piece of cake... I would have virtually NO bills.

    Talk about AWESOME.

Hell I could have bought a nicer house not needing remodeling - PAID in full still.

    Haha, oh well

    There is that chance --

But the chances of that based on all that Ford did was very unlikely...

Or you could have lost a ton of money. We have quite a bit of Ford stock, maybe some day it will be worth what we paid for it. Or maybe we'll never recover those funds. Luckily other stocks have done much better.

Trey, there are alot of guys who make a ton of cash in the stock market. They love to brag about how much they made on xyz stock, but never tell you how much they lost on another stock. Truth is, it takes some research, and time, to grow your coin in stocks. It's not a get rich quick scheme, though some will have you believe so.

    I know that ---

What I am getting at, back in 08 I literally looked up Ford's stock on google and saw it trading for 1.88...

At that moment in time I immediately said to myself I should buy some of this.

Now it sells for alot more and I regret not making that risk.

Back in 07 I bought 2,000 shares of a stock at $10 a share. It closed yesterday at $.98. I still own it. At the same time I bought 2,000 shares of a stock at $4.75. It closed yesterday at $5.10. I still own it as well. I also bought 1,500 shares of a stock at $3. I sold it at $14. It closed at $4.25 yesterday.

The point? For every stock you could have bought that would have made you rich...there are others that could break you...no matter how much you know. Believe it or not...Ford could have easily gone the way of GM and Chrysler and the stock would have been worthless. It was touch and go...but they were barely able to hang on and survived and the stockholders are now reaping the benefits.

I told everybody to buy Ford stock and nobody listened to me. I would have loaded up on as much of it as I could at the time but I didn't have any money to do it with.
