Center speaker recommendation

In addition to my HT using my B&W speakers I want to set up another HT using Polk Speakers. I have my choice of Monitor 10s or 7s as fronts and 7s or 5JRS as rear. The 5JRs are a little heavy for wall mounting for rears but I have RT5s and RT4s that might be ok if I end up mounting the rears on the wall or hanging from the ceiling. I have a CS 150 but I'm not sure it will be what I need for my center speaker. I've done some research and the CS400s and CS300s seem like they would work better. Are there any other CS that would work as well? In this room I'll be using an Integra 7.6 receiver and an Adcom 5800 for the main front speakers. The room I use will probably be one about 17X19X8. I haven't hooked the CS150 up to see how it sounds but in my other HT I'm using a B&W 805 Matrix and I've become accustomed to an excellent CS and would like to have the same quality CS that would work well with my Monitors. TIA

The CS1000p might be a better center channel choice.
Statistics show that 98% of us will die at some point in our lifetime.

The other 2% will work for WalMart.

I've considered the 350s and haven't seen any for sale. I hooked up the CS 150 today and it would probably work until I find something better. The CS400s are bringing around $125+ on e-bay. I'll most likely get a CS400 or 300.
Thanks for the suggestions. Happy New Year:smile:

I have the CS300 and it is fantastic center. They are kind of rare, but jump on one if you can find it!

Thanks. They show up on e-bay......but not often and when they do there is a bidding war. Every thing I've read about the 300 and 400 has said that they are great speakers..........I'll find one sooner or later.:smile:

I got a cs300 I plan to sell sometime, it is amayzing sounding !
Don 73 let me know via private message or get my email from polk forumn.
I havent done many A-B comparisons but It sounds better than my kef 100 and that kef sounds better than any other center I ever heard .
I cant beleive the #400 sounding better the low end is unbeleivable the mid is silky smooth and that tweeter gotta be the best polk made .

Got this a while back in a package deal, didnt even know what it was.

The other day, thought bass from ht in bedroom was from sub, got up and walked by cabinet, it was this center, i had forgotten to turn sub on.

was amazed those little drivers could do that.

Question, with no tags or labels, how do i know if it is a ls and is there a big diff.

    thanks

I saw 2 diff models one had like a picture frame like front (see vintage on this forumn) the other had a flat front , I bet they are the same except one is a newer model .
To be exact ask somebody on this forumn .

The CS1000p shares some tonal qualities with the CS400 (Ive had both) but the range of the CS1000p is much better, as to be expected with its two powered subs. It is certainly a beautiful sounding speaker. very open and great detail.

would it gargle the mid range at all ?
I had a problem with a intermitant weak center turns out my sub level was too high and I was concerned the 1000 would do the same thing ??
