Hi all
Since I have this week off work,I was doing research into building a freenas server. In the process I discovered that I can use Windows 7 to stream video on my wireless network. Specifically, I wanted to use my Sony Bluray player,to access files on my computers on the network. I'm sure some of you are aware of this fuctionality built into Windows 7 but for those who don't you might find this helpful. First, the Bluray player needs to be a DLNA compliant device and be networkable either wired or wireless.I have a Sony BDP-S470 which meets both of the criteria I just mentioned. Then you just need to set up Windows 7 to stream. The following link explains how to accomplish this.

I set my wifes laptop today to do this and it works great. In fact I set it up to share video and music from her laptop and my desktop as well.
