i just got a set of tsi 400's to replace my rt10's. they were on sale at 2 for $499, so i grabbed them. my question is, do you think the tsi500's are worth the $300 difference? these sound ok, but i can't help but wonder how much better those would sound. please feel free to chime in with any opinions.
thanks so much.............. kevin

That's subjective at best and at a 3 hundred shell difference in regards to your current deal on the TSi400?.... Don't lose sleep over it. See what you can upgrade elsewhere before you get to thinking again.

Personally i'd grab a pair of Rti8's off amazon for $224 each with free shipping, and it'd match your center since you have the Csi3 on the way.

That's not a bad point and hopefully he means RT10 and not RTi10. I didn't even notice the signature since that option is turned off. However, they seem to be purchased already. The timbre mismatch shouldn't be that noticeable really. Good catch B.

nope, they were rt10's. i guess a better receiver is more important at this time anyway. i do plan on getting another set of owm3's for the rear. i just can't help second guessing my purchase. you know how it is. lol

Your fine with what you have since it's not in any way hard to drive to earsplitting volumes at it's current 90db efficiency. There's another thread that shows the 282 for $170 somewhere....might be a cool pickup at that price.

Its always best to audition the speakers first,, simply because the tsi500,s are larger, does not mean youd prefer them,, first theres the sound,,, maybe if you could hear them side by side, you would still prefer the tsi400,s also, alot depends on what your goals are,,, if you really want to rock the fondation,, you want more drivers,,,but, if you want good quality sound, the extra driver, might not be needed,, it seems to me, your not asking about the gear matching up, your asking about the sound differance, only you, can decide that,, jimmy.
Not an Audiophile, just a dude who loves music, and decent gear to hear it with.
