So i'm in the middle of changing out my speaker wire, and I accidentally unscrew one of the terminals too many times on my Rti8 and the cap fell down into my power port and inside my speaker! I can hear it rattling around and can't get it out.
I've tried taking off the power port but I can't get 3 out of the 4 screws out, they're old and stripped I guess. I've tried unscrewing the screws around the binding post in the back and taking the whole thing off but I can't get it out and am afraid of breaking it. I've tried laying the speaker on it's back and shaking it out, with no luck at all.
Does anyone have any ideas? I just got my 2nd sub and star quad wires in today and am having people over to watch a movie tonight and i'm stuck! As always, Thanks for the help guys.

Can you see the terminal, if so take a long stick and put a ball of duct tape on it with the sticky side out........or you can fit a small diameter tube to your vacuum cleaner and try to suck it out, be carefull not to contact the batt material.
Or you could just pop one of the speakers out and reach in.

If all else fails just sell the speaker real cheap.

take one of the drivers out, then stick your hand in and pull it out. If it's just one of the banana caps you could just leave it in unless you hear it rattling when playing music

I can't see it, just hear it. I tried pulling out the bottom driver but the port tube right below it was in the way to reach in. I looked down with a flashlight and didn't see anything. I don't think i'll hear it if the speaker is still, but i really just need another one so I can finish wiring and enjoy it. Is that something that's universal that I could just pick up at radio shack or something? I tried stealing one off my AVR but they don't come all the way off .

Ok another question: Can I just put the wire through the hole and wrap it around itself, then wrap it in electrical tape? I really need these going within the next 2 hours and i tried wal-mart and radio-shack and they don't have the part.

For the short term you can get a large alligator clip, attach the speaker wire to it and then clip it to the terminal post. Then you can play around with it tomorrow when you're not STRESSED out.

Or you can do what you said by wrapping the wire through the post, and cover it with tape.

Appreciate all the help. I ended up finding a pair of monster banana plugs in a drawer and just used one of them, problem solved! Yeah I should have known better than trying to rewire my system in a hurry, but I had a 2nd psw505 and 30 feet of star quad cable on my door today. I was dying to replace my temporary home depot speaker wire and just couldn't help myself.
