I just had my NAD T175HD and Anthem D2 come in, I am going to set them up tonight and take a little listening tour. Hopefully, I will have some feedback by the end of the weekend. My MIT HDMI cables came in yesterday as well, so lots of new fun stuff to try out.

FYI AV = Preamp in Marantz speak. A Preamp doesn't need a lot of weight for power.

Huck looking forward to your comments on it.

How Marantz and Denon products can be recommended when dramatic reductions in weight appear every year is beyond me. 26-28lbs for $1000 plus price point products is simply unacceptable. I don't care what anybody tells me, room correction will only do so much...where on earth has the drive and power gone?

How can people accept and recommend products that are more or less kleenex boxes...I don't understand.

This dude has not even bothered to read this thread and chimes in with negative thoughts on a high horse .....too funny

But I will agree with him on the power getting less and less these days and thats why I am going the pre amp way

Blueboxer I would like to hear your thoughts and congrats on getting some uber swanky audio gear but I wonder....... Why did you go with a d2 over a cheaper avm50 ? could you tell us there difference's between the 2

Huck thats awesome that you had the balls to take the plunge on the marantz av7005 and it will be great to hear what ya have to say .What kind of gear will you be hooking it uo to and what gear have you previously owned

I was reading about the anthem receivers all day and the anthem mrx 500 seems to be the best option although anthem left out the analog 7.1 section on all models and is considered a deal breaker by many
