Heck man, who do you work for? Cellphones are lifelines where I work. I take 15-20 calls a day. Not to include emails on the phone with word docs, excel, attachments included.

More and more clients I visit are restricting or prohibiting cell/text use in their facilities. My company is looking at units that would block text transmissions and restrict cell signals to specific areas. I think Wiki-Leaks has all companies taking a look at their information security policies.

I'd be really surprised if such a thing existed that could block "text transmissions." Text messages are just sent along witha packet your cell phone already has to send and receive to talk to the tower; if you blocked it NOTHING would work.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

90% of my CCTV camera installations are used for management not security. The systems ($100,000)have paid for them selves in 3 months or less We have analyzed slowed production, and many cases safety issues regarding cell phone use in the job place. Not that I approve but I do understand the restrictions in the job place and the it is at the descretion of the employeer....remember we didn't have this luxury 15yrs ago. Now in regards to the Gov. Jamming signals in your car "Obama proposal" is ludicris that means I can't even pull over to make a call is unexceptable. It is a double edged sword....trust me I am a 6000min/month plus cell phone user.

Won't work here. No union. Anyone who tried to start one was released (right to work).

Not that it's necessary. I'm on the pc all day with mostly unrestricted internet, and my phone sits in a dock under my monitor. As long as I don't take personal calls while im on the phone here, they don't care.

Bobman - they haven't found it yet, but it doesn't mean they aren't looking. There are some units out there that do a pretty good job of blocking cell signals entirely in a short radius from the unit.

Interesting, but I will admit that cellphone use definitely seems to hinder productivity and attention to detail. Some of my coworkers can't resist the urge to check their cellphone or use it every five minutes.

Yeah sorry, my bad, I wish there was a option to edit out my post, I can't now, once it's posted for a certain length of time you can't edit it.
