Ok so I have a 5.1 setup and I was kinda curious if it would be possible to buy say this receiver Onkyo TX-NR1008 (9.2) , and to redirect the channels to biamp both the front and rear speakers. I know you can reassign the channels on a 7.1 but not sure if it can be done with 2 sets on a 9.2 receiver. Any help is appreciated.

Just buy a good amp and save the coin versus buying another AVR. External amp should last alot longer also. Meaning no constant upgrades like receiver models being replaced yrly.

Bi-amping with an AVR is a waste of time and money. It has absolutely no benefits whatsoever in my experience(and in the experience of MANY others). It's simply an advertising gimmick...nothing more.

It's not possible for the AVR's amp to double the power output to a speaker by simply connecting it to a second set of outputs, due to the fact that in nearly all AVR's, the power for all channels is deriven from one common power block. The exception to this is AVR's that have separate mono-block amps on each channel...and these are few and far between.

That being said, I doubt that what you're asking would work(supposing hypothetically that bi-amping with an AVR even worked period). If it is possible, the specs of the AVR should indicate as such.

Onkyos let you do this for the mains only... but as comfortablycurt said, there's no tangible benefit to doing so. If you feel your speakers are underpowered, an external amp is the better option.
