Hello all. Thanks in advance for the help.
I just set up my new SurroundBar. I hooked up the optical audio wire from my LG flatscreen direct to the SB.
My Roku (connected via HDMI from Roku to TV) works perfectly. My DVD player (connected via RGB cables to TV) works perfectly.
But, there's always a but, I am not receiving any sound from my Comcast Cable (connected from cable box to TV with HDMI).
I tried connecting with Comcast, but that was quickly a waste of time.
Really appreciate any guidance. Thanks!

Hello,
It is possible the Comcast converter is not correctly programmed to send a digital signal via your HDMI cable. Try running a right and left RCA cable from the Comcast converter to the TV. Also, look in the Comcast owner's manual about setting the box for HD processing. You might need both an analogue and HDMI connection for non-HD channels.
Regards, Ken -
I tried connecting a right and left RCA cable from converter to TV, but no sound. Since the TV is set on HDMI for video, I'm not sure how to get the sound in via the RCA.
Is it possible to connect a cable directly from the converter to the surroundbar? -
For future SurroundBar purchasers with Comcast, I solved this by going into the root menu of the Motorola Converter, additional settings, changed audio from Auto to PCM. Worked straightaway then.
Thanks Kenneth for pushing me on the right path.

the problem with setting it to pcm is that it will only do stereo.
On my scientific atlanta box I have to set the audio to HDMI if I want the sound to go through the tv via hdmi, and Dolby Digital if I want to output directly from the box's optical/coax .Main Surround -
