Subwoofer cable

A few weeks ago while shopping for a good sub cable, a rep at Best Buy told me that I can use regular coax cable with an F connector at (adaptor) each end as a very good sub cable. Has anyone used this kind of setup before?

Thanks

You can, and it'll probably work. Make sure one end has the ground disconnected (the end attached to the sub).

It's cheaper just to buy a sub cable from monoprice, honestly.

Thanks for the advice guys. Now I realizied I need to run about 10ft of wire in-wall. Would coax for the in-wall portion be good along with the standard sub cable at each connection (rec & sub)?

I would think whichever cable you pick - stick with one type end to end for in wall, sub, and avr patch cables.

I recently upgraded mine from some no name RCA to a Monoprice cable, with a Y adapter. I know there are much better cables then the MP's out there, but I can tell you it did make a difference from the no name cable, with no Y adapter. I belive both the adapter and cable shipped was around $16.00 to my door. Check them out - www.monoprice.com - Hope that helps.

I use Monoprice sub cable. Works perfectly and I see no problem running it in-wall

would there be any audible difference in a Mono-price cable vs a Blue jeans one sub-woofer cable?
