Speaker Advice

So Santa was good to me. I ended up with some Polk speakers since some family members knew I wanted to build a new surround sound system in our new basement.
I now have a set of RM8 satellite speakers, a DSW600 subwoofer, and a Onkyo TX-SR608 receiver.
I'm looking to fill in the front speakers. I was considering the TSi400 towers and a CS20 center channel speaker. Would this complete collection of speakers and receiver work well together? I do mostly movies, and was also considering another set of RM8's to fill out a 7.1 system.
I would hate to waste money on speakers that are too good for my receiver or don't "match" the RM8's and sub I just got, so figured I would ask for some advice. A friend says it'll be a great system as long as the front / center speakers are from the same series.
Thanks for any help you can provide, and I'm glad to be a Polk addict now.

WELCOME TO CLUB POLK!
That is certainly true. Your front three are you most important speakers. And the center should be the BEST of whatever series you are using. There's a lot less info carried in the surround tracks....though larger speakers back there do make a difference, the RM8s will work for you with the Onkyo, for now.
TSI 400s and the CS20 are a fine match. They look better in their Cherry version IMO.
Enjoy!

I'd go with the monitor line and save some money, like a pair of Monitor 70's and a CS2 would be a nice setup. The rear surround aren't as important to match as the front 3 are.

Why would you go with the monitor line? Just wondering what the key differences are, other than price.

Mostly the price and aesthetics. Functionally they're practically identical...there are a few minor changes such as the TSi's being bottom ported, but nothing major. My System Showcase!

^ +1 what he said. I don't think those differences are worth 350-400 more for a pair of TSI500's vs Monitor 70's but that is just my opinion. They also have a different style cascade crossover I believe. It'd save you enough to get another set of rear surrounds so I thought i'd throw it out there. Good luck and welcome to the forum.

Just one addition...It is my understanding that ONLY the M70s have that 2.5 crossover configuration in the M-series!
