I'm cleaning out the entertainment unit drawers and have found some stuff that I may just pitch. Before I do, would anyone be interested in:
Bootleg DVD's (Asian?) of Star Wars before Lucas released them on DVD
Episode IV
Episode V
Episode VI
I've never watched them so I have no idea of the sound or picture quality. They do say Dolby AC-3 on the covers.
Also have some full screen DVD's:
Mummy Returns
Star Wars II
I Robot
Maybe this stuff is just junk but I thought I'd give those here a crack at it before I just pitch it. All items are free and I'll probably cover mailing as well - it can't be more than a buck or two.

OK, not much interest as I suspected. I'm going to just give these to my nephew then along with some other wide screen DVD's (duplicates) that I found after a little more digging.

Is the Mummy Returns a bootleg as well?--Gary--
Onkyo Integra M504, Bottlehead Foreplay III, Denon SACD, Thiel CS2.3, NHT VT-2, VT-3 and Evolution T6, Infinity RSIIIa, SDA1C and a few dozen other speakers around the house I change in and out. -
You gave your Karma 2 hours the day after X-mas Hoilday and you're surprised no one is interested?
Give it a few days if you really want to Karma something- Sheesh
What I meant was give it a few days for people to see the post. Karma usually has a beginning date and ending date. This time of year I'd push the ending date out a little further than normal.

Usually you give a Karma a week or two for interest and attendance to build. Most people would be at work during the two hours you opened and closed this Karma...

There was lots of activity on the board today and my post was very rapidly falling to the bottom so I just assumed no one was interested. Most of the karmas I've seen here a few people jump on right away.
I'd still happily give the stuff away as I had originally posted if someone was interested. So far no response to my offer (at least until I started thinking about giving the stuff to my nephew :rolleyes:).
I don't really know how to karma something so if someone could explain how it works, that would help.
Chris -
By the way, the "full screen DVD's" are not bootleg.

My wife said my nephew probably won't be interested in the wide screen movies so I'll karma those too. Plus I found some duplicate Van Halen CD's that will go as well. Maybe split everything up into 2-3 karma's.
So to do a karma I need a start and an end date? How do I pick the winner?
Chris -
Basically just throw it out there with the purple Karma tag.
Describe what it is and your terms, most Karma's are entirely free unless it's a heavy or cumbersome item to ship, some may ask for shipping.
Put a time line on it and see what happens. Or if you just want to give them to your nephew now that's fine, but your title had question marks so maybe many didn't even bother to look at the thread.

Heiney, I hate to be dense but how do you pick the winner at the end? Put all the interested person's name in a hat and pick? Or what? That part of a karma has never been quite clear to me.
Thanks! Chris -
Ah yes the picking. Many use a random number generator (found on the internet) or you could do it the old fashioned and pick out of a hat. Use the post #'s on the right hand side of each post for those that qualify.

Thanks! :biggrin::biggrin:

In please?
(the mention of some VH CDs got my interest piqued:cool:)
I'd be willing to split shipping, or at the very least re-karma-ing those which I decide not to keep.
Fair enough?
My .02, most things for karma have some sort of entry "guidelines" (min # of posts, length of time on the Forum, etc. you get the idea)So, are you willing to put forth a little effort or are you happy sitting in your skeptical poo pile?

Shoot either way you take the easy way out! When I did my first karma way back, I copied and pasted each "insky" screename into an MS Word documents cut out the 35 (I think) or so names then folded them up threw them in a hat and had my wife (I think) pull the name!
Instead of the BDT being alone, I should sign my posts with plain old BIG DUMB JOE!!! LOL!!!! -
