I saw those last night, fair asking price for sure.

Damn Tough to beat for $250.

It's a shame how lightly regarded the "LS" series seems to be. These suckers sold for around $800-$850 less than 10 yrs ago and they just don't seem to have much value nowadays. The last pair of LS-50's on ebay went for a-freakin'-hundred and thirty-five bucks! They had some small cosmetic problems but, sheesh, gimme a break!
The last pair of LS-70's (mint) got a high bid of $280 which didn't meet the reserve. These sold for $1200 new!
There are 2 pair of LS-90's right now which retailed for $1600. One pair only has a high bid of $122.50 with only 3 days left and the other is doing much better at $405 with 2 days left.
Considering what you have to pay today for a good set of floor standers I just don't understand why the LS's do so poorly on ebay. This guy will be lucky to get the $225 for these LS50's, especially considering they aren't mint.
BTW......I own a pair of LS50's I purchased new in around 1995 for $800. They are no longer my mains but I'll be damned if I'd let them go for $225 , even if anybody would pay that. I'll use them as rears for the rest of my life before I'd do that.

Dragon - That's great that you speak so highly of the LS line, I believe that vintage Polks are really cool, and an excellent used choice.

Nice to see you in the forum :)
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

I have LS50 also, they are great! In fact I ran them side by side with my new RTi70's and they held there own easy, in fact I think they were better in some areas. Disregarding the SRT system and the LSi series I think the LS90's might be the best speaker that Polk has made in the last ten years.

I also have LS50's. Great speaker. I bought them in '96. You will not believe what I paid brand new. Good Guys had a deal on them. Buy 1 for $249 and get the 2nd for .01!!!!!!
Got my CS350LS at the same time for $375. All 3 speaks still going strong.

That's an amazing price...were they demos?
I picked up my Klipsch KG 5.2's at Good Guys around the same time you got your LS50's. They retailed for over $800 and I got a pair of demos for $375 which included doubling the manufacturers warranty from 5 to 10 yrs. They are still my mains w/ the LS50's in the rear.
I paid $800 for the LS50's and $399 for the CS350SL. I think you would be hard pressed to find a better center channel.

Nope, brand new in boxes. In fact they had a whole stack of 'em on the sales floor at the time. Yes, the 350 is a great center.
