New Christmas present of course.

I've connected the optical audio out of my TV (Sony KDL-46XBR6) to the input of the SB3K.

I get no audio out of the SB3k.

I also changed the sound output of the TV to go completely external so that the audio out, still no sound from the SB3k.

I do see the LED light from optical cable.

Any thoughts?

Thanks and Merry Christmas.

I've read the TV Manual and the setup appears correct to me.

    Any other thoughts?

You haven't posted how it is configured... We aren't going to guess for you.

I've connected the SB3K as described in the instructions. I.E.

    1. I've connected the optical audio out of my TV (Sony KDL-46XBR6) to the input of the SB3K using the supplied optical cable.

    2. I get no audio out of the SB3k.

    3. I changed the sound output of the TV to go completely external disabling the internal tv speakers, still no sound from the SB3k.

    4. I do see the LED light coming from optical cable.

    5. I also went out to the store and purchased an analog to RCA cable and repeated the steps outlined above. No sound.

    I'm stuck. Help is appreciated.

I have had exactly the same problem with the 3000 connecting to a Sony EX 500 46 inch. Symptoms are identical. TV is connected via HDMI cable to PVR/digital box. Soundbar is functional as I tested it by plugging it to a DVD player and the sound is great. I just got back from the electronics store....the salesmen there experienced the same problem..they could not get the 3000 to talk to the TV via the optical port. Is there a basic imcompatibilty??
