I ordered an atomic clock alarm clock, that also projects the time onto the ceiling. The atomic part is for me, the projecting on the ceiling is to torment my wife, the former Theresa Talamonti. I knew ahead of time it would "bug" her to have the PRECISE time projected in not too bright, not too large, subtle red numbers, onto the ceiling while she's trying to sleep. What type sickness is this anyway?

The atomic part won't work, so I notified the company via e-mail, being careful to mention I am highly experienced in the area of atomic clocketry, because I have several that I've been using for years. I had to go through the usual tail chase for a few e-mails, following exact instructions on how to get it to perform. No dice. The girl finally says to me, "Send me a copy of the receipt and I'll authorize you a new clock." I told her I purchased it online with a credit card, and I don't have a receipt. "Well you'll need to wait and send me a copy of the credit card statement, or you could just photo the clock and e-mail me the picture, and then I'll authorize shipment of your replacement clock."

I sent one last e-mail. "Do you keep records? If there is a question about the legitimacy of this purchase, why did you send me one?"

I shortly received a e-mail reply with my shipping tracking # and expected delivery date.

most of our clocks are full of gears and springs and stuff like that - but it's a good story, George; an inspiring Christmas story. You raised a good point.

Just because you glow in the dark does not make you an atomic expert. Could be that cheap perfume you bought at the yard sale.

    Merry Christmas

Having the time projected on the ceiling of the bedroom would bug me too! And I'm not sure how that would work with the life-size picture of Doro I have on the bedroom ceiling

I get the feeling that somehow, someway, before it's all said and done, a certain Polkie is going to wind up trying to tweak his atomic clock, and we're going to all experience a rip in the fabric of the space/time continuum.

Not trying to make any accusations, but are you aware that "George Grand" and "Nikola Tesla" both have the exact same number of letters ? Mere coincidence or ........ ?

Are you aware that contained within the name "George Grand" are the secret words, "Danger Gorge" ? Not to mention "Darn Egg Ogre" and "Argon Red Egg" ( is this secret Russian Code for the mysterious substance, Red Mecury ? ).

It's ..... almost too much to think about !

..... in fact, I've probably thought about it too much already.

In any event, ..... MERRY CHRISTMAS !!

Apple did the same thing to me with the iphone. They wanted me to go to their store and have their people print me a copy of the receipt, bring it home and FAX it to them. It's a strange world out there.

    Merry Christmas!!!
