Anyone here using an Epik Vanquish?

Hey everyone,

I was wondering if anyone here was using an Epik Vanquish(or a pair of Vanquish's). Next year, I'm hoping to add a pair of LSi9's to my rig, once some of you guys start buying the new LSi's and selling off your old ones(at dirt cheap prices of course, because of how much you all love me...you're gonna practically give me the things!!!!). I'd like to add some stereo subs as well.

In addition to the Vanquish, I'm also looking at the Polk MP2K's and the SVS SB12-NSD. I've also been checking out the Epik Legend...which has also caught my interest quite a bit. This will be used for both music and HT, but my only real concerns are for musicality. The HT performance is relatively insignificant to me. I definitely want to go with a sealed design, rather than ported.

One thing that concerns me about both Epik's, and the MP2K, is the fact that the crossover will only go down to 50hz(60 in the case of the MP2K). I'm not sure if that would be a huge issue when matched with LSi9's, but Trey's thread about the Epik Legend made that point occur to me. The SVS' crossover goes down to 30hz...which is a big difference.

The Vanquish's have piked my interest more than any other subs I've seen yet...anyone have any thoughts on them?

Any suggestions for other subs I should look at aside from the four that I mentioned? Mainly looking in the $500ish range. I'll initially just get one sub, and eventually add the second one.

I havent listened to lsi9's but the -3db spec seems to be 50hz.. its probably going to roll off fairly sharply below that so I would think a crossover at 50hz would be more than sufficient...Sure, in-room response might be much lower depending on the room modes but that may be more of a headache as it would give you peaks at other frequencies. Now I'm sure there are fancier bookshelves that can go way low down to 30hz at -3db but I wouldnt assume the Lsi9's would have a synergy issue with a 50hz crossover on a reasonable sub.

I will let you know about these ED subwoofers --

Because honestly they are the best bang for the buck so far...

The Epik Legend might fit the bill. I have a Sentinel, same driver and amp as the Vanquish and it's built very solid. The driver and structure is the best I've seen in its price point.
