I have a Pioneer VSX-9140TXH, power output (1kHz, 6 omhs 0.05% 1 Ch driven) 150W per channel. Was considering the Polk RTiA9 or TSi500, both on sale-boxing day. Was wondering if my receiver has enough to power these speakers. If not would a power amp help? Also considering the Paradigm Monitor 7 or 9 also on sale. The RTiA9 and TSi500 and Monitor 7 are both the same price and the Monitor 9 is about $300 more/pair I will be using 95% for movie viewing
Thanks

Enough power? It'll power them. Your receiver is only like 100w/channel 1 channel driven 20-20.

All channels driven maybe 35-40w/channel before distortion or clipping.
Spend more on your center channel, that's what you'll mostly be hearing.
    Main Surround -
    Epson 8350 Projector/ Elite Screens 120" / Pioneer Elite SC-35 / Sunfire Signature / Focal Chorus 716s / Focal Chorus CC / Polk MC80 / Polk PSW150 sub

    Bedroom - Sharp Aquos 70" 650 / Pioneer SC-1222k / Polk RT-55 / Polk CS-250

    Den - Rotel RSP-1068 / Threshold CAS-2 / Boston VR-M60 / BDP-05FD

Thanks for your feed back, I agree and will take your advice on the center speaker. With this receiver if I want I can also run my center channel to the front speakers as well to the center.

Your receiver can power all the speakers if you want with out any problems. An Amp would bring this to a higher level, in the future. My suggestion by the biggest speakers you can afford, and never look back.

    Speakers
    Carver Amazing Fronts
    CS400i Center
    RT800i's Rears
    Sub Paradigm Servo 15

    Electronics
    Conrad Johnson PV-5 pre-amp
    Parasound Halo A23
    Pioneer 84TXSi AVR
    Pioneer 79Avi DVD
    Sony CX400 CD changer
    Panasonic 42-PX60U Plasma
    WMC Win7 32bit HD DVR
