I am thinking of getting two of these on sale on Amazon for $169.99 a piece with free shipping. One will be used for my center and the other for the rears. Anyone have experience with these amps or any advice. As always, thanks,Darryl

If I remember correctly (I had one years ago) you can not bridge this amp, so keep that in mind for your center.
The amp was not too impressive, but for the price OK. -
Had one, mediocre at best. Thin sounding, no headroom. If that's your price range, I'd take a look at the used market. Adcom, Acurus, B&K, Parasound, etc.

I believe this amp and the Integra 2.1 amp are the same.....i know the Integra 2.1 is basically the same amp as found in there receivers. not rated below 6 ohms. intriguing at that price point but understand the limitations. anLiving Room 2 Channel -

I almost bought this amp from Amazon last year for a little over $200 I think it was. Instead, for the same price, I found a used Adcom GFA-555 from fleaBay and bought that instead.
The Adcom is not as pretty as the Onkyo, but I had to try an "amp" to see what my speakers were missing. So far I have not been disappointed.Do you hear that buzzing noise? -
You could do better for the same price or a little bit more.
Adcom GFA-545's can be had for $150-200 all day long...and are far superior sounding amps. A friend of mine has an Onkyo M-282, and we've A/B'd it with my 545...we were both in agreement that the 545 smoked it in every category.
The M-282 was somewhat thin and lifeless sounding to my ears. It didn't seem to have enough grunt to carry you through very dynamic passages without "losing steam".The nirvana inducer-

The old Onkyos were way better than this thing. I hate to be so harsh, but the M-282 is a disgrace to the Oinker M-series.I don't read the newsssspaperssss because dey aaaallllllllll...... have ugly print.

It's true the Adcom gfa555 is not a goodlooker.I have the industrial model w/the handles
and I've got to tell you, power clean and plenty of it, it never gets hot and on the bottom of my rack I couldn't care what it looks like. For what I paid $275.00 from Audio Classics I couldn't be happier. now on to the Mac C-28 PRE and all will be well w/ the world.....LW2chl- Adcom GFA- 555-Onkyo P-3150v pre/amp- JVC-QL-A200 tt- Denon 1940 ci cdp- Adcom GFS-6 -Modded '87 SDA 2Bs - Dynamat Ext.- BH-5- X-Overs VR-3, RDO-194 tweeters, Larry's Rings, Speakon/Neutrik I/C- Cherry stain tops Advent Maestros,Ohm model E

Yep Adcom makes a hell of an amp:) Sounds like an Adcom 545 would work fine as a center channel amp?
