So I finally "properly" integrated my sub into my two channel.
I first ran a line out to the sub from the Rogue Pre becuase this seemed easy. So I was sending the same signal to the Amp for the speakers and to the sub. Obviously the monitors can't go as low as the sub but they were getting the full signal anyway. I always thought they did a pretty good job but by adding the sub this obviously filled out the bottom end where they Tylers couldn't go.
Today I finally ran speaker wire from my amp to the subs in and then another set of speaker wire back to the speakers. I guess this would be considered "properly" for integrating a sub into 2 channel? (I know the purist say blasphemy!)
I was skeptical of the benefits to be gained. Another set of wires in the path, not to mention the name of this extra set of wires begins with an "M".
I was wrong. The difference was not subtle. First track I played was Sara McLachlan's Angel. Her voice was HUGE on the front stage. Probably almost 2 feet taller than I'm used to. It was like a giant Sara FatHead was in the room in front of me. The reverb or echo in the room where she recorded this song was the greatest I had ever heard. It was very clean! I actually muttered "wow" in surprise since I've listened to this tune hundreds of times and never heard it like this.
I'm not sure why or how but almost sounds as if the sub has more authority? The difference of RCA/LFE in to the speaker wire? Maybe it's cause I turned it up a "tick"?
I crossed over around 60? I know everyone recommends 80. I'll fiddle around with this to see If there is anything more to be gained. The Tylers say FrequencyResponse: 35-25k so thought the 60 would be fine.
The dealer also said my Rogue maybe had 5 hours on it when I purchased it (demo). I've been playing it constantly and the vocals are doing much better. They were a little disjointed days one and two. Not sure if this is just the unit or the tubes or both breaking in. New Tubes on the way and going to try some Audio Art ICs too.
Anyone else running 2.1 this way?
Happy Holidays!

That's how i used to run my subs when i had a sub in my 2-channel setup. "Daisy-chain." Sounded a bit better to me. That was back when i had my old Adcom preamp though.
Now, i've got a sub output on my B&K, and i can select if i want to run my mains full range or not. When i have a sub, i run the mains full range, and just let the sub help out down low.I don't read the newsssspaperssss because dey aaaallllllllll...... have ugly print.
