Remove glossy top (bezel?) from TSi200 bookshelf speakers?

I'd like to place my TSi200s in a built-in shelf that is just slightly too small. Is there a way of removing the glossy top without damaging it? I'm afraid to just rip it off because I don't know what is under it or how it is attached.
