What is the difference in component system?

I really do not understand what is the difference between a component system and a regular pair of speaker like the MMC650.

i understand the component system comes with a speaker and tweeter. i was also told that the component system speaker is midbass.. what is midbass? does it acts like a sub?

what are +/-? does component system play vocal, normal sounding? or just the bass?

please bare with me, im new to car audio
