SDA 2.3's or Soundbar

I am having trouble deciding what to do. I have my wondrous SDA SRS 2.3TL's powered by my A21/P3 combo in the living room for two channel sound. Between the monoliths is a nice 46" flat panel that is used for games and the occasional show or movie. The sound from the TV is not great. I have a dedicated media room, so no desire to reproduce it here.

I have wondered if it would be completely ridiculous of me to buy a soundbar for the TV and leave the SDA's for two channel. That way I can save the big boys for my musical enjoyment, and not have them wear out making bonk, plink, boom sounds. Am I over thinking this?

Fwiw, I think you are right on the money. I don't think games will damage your speakers, but you are not getting a "full" entertainment experience on the SDA's.

Most games are in 5.1, as are many TV shows and almost every movie. The surround bar lets you get a reproduction of those channels without stringing wires and speakers all over, so it is a great choice for the lesser used system. I would add a sub to the surround bar and call it a day.
