Cheap bedroom setup?

Hey all,
Glancing through the Parts Express catalogue last night, noticed this:
http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=300-650
Add a random cd player laying around and have a halfway decent low-volume bedroom setup? I realize it won't sound as good as my old Pioneer Elite/Paradigm Titan setup, but i never turned it up enough to push that setup in the first place.
Any other cool ideas for real cheap prices? Would these sound so terrible i'd be unhappy with them at any volume?

I thought about doing something like that, but I'm pretty sure that I'm just going to get a Tivoli radio instead. Something that fits on a nightstand more easily.

Hrm, for some reason i didn't think of putting anything on the nightstand. Was going to put this on the dresser across the room.
Dammit, now i'm thinking of those small-form denon setups i see on Ebay from time to time. Look what you've done!
Glad to see you posting! How's the Camry doing?I don't read the newsssspaperssss because dey aaaallllllllll...... have ugly print.

I was going to suggest the small Denon setup.
Like the DM38

For the right price, that's probably a better way to go. I don't particularly like any of my spare cd players. I'll have to research prices on those.
Keep the ideas coming!I don't read the newsssspaperssss because dey aaaallllllllll...... have ugly print.

That T amp is a little Jem. I dont use mine currently, but will always have them. get that, a 1A wall wart. reasonably efficient speakers and your golden.
RTA12's, B&W bookshelves, even SDA1's for a spell (though the amp got REAL hot since it is apparently not common ground) all sounded shockingly fantastic.
dont go the battery route, improved power supply is key (at least 700 mA ri as I used 1A)Living Room 2 Channel -
Wiim Ultra. Jolida CD player. Fiio k11 R2R DAC, XTZ as300 Edge amp. Focal Cobalt 826 towers,
Upstairs 2 Channel Rig -
Classe Audio 5 Preamp, DIY1200as2 Icepower Amp x 2, Wiim pro streamer and Topping E70 Velvet DAC, California Audio Labs DX1 CD player, Polk LSi15's with MM840 woofer upgrade.

The Camry is in storage for winter, already covered in dust, but the audio stuff is in full swing!
I guess the next to the bed is appealing to me because I can't read the display on any piece of A/V gear from across the room, and that bugs me. I also like being able to do things without a remote. I'm getting a Tivoli in a week or so, I'll try to post a review. Not that I am qualified to do that, but oh well. -

I would think that anyone on this forum is probably qualified to make a review on a bedside radio.
