Are you currently running?
I am a pc fanatic!
Connectors/Receptacles/Power cables, I can't get enough of the AC side of this hobby!
I have more in dedicated lines/receptacles/powercords/upgraded IEC inputs/connectors than you can imagine!
Alot of people collect plates/beenie babies/records, ect.
I collect AC tweaks and all that goes with that!
I spend more on heat shrink/Deoxit/wire/connectors than most people spend on their system!

Anyone else addicted?
I can take a small BS system and make it sound pretty good with some GREAT AC power.

I have used Zu Cables since I returned to this hobby and now have Zu Mother PCs on all my equipment. Do not know alot about the new Zu Mission or Event cables but, based on my experiance I would assume there is excellent value and performance for the dollar.

I use Pangea AC14SEs from my source components, and a giagantic AC-9 from my dedicated 15amp outlet to my Power Center.

My AVR, Sub, and Int Amp use PS Audio power cords.

I do diy pc's with wire from Chris Venhaus: Flavor 2 on CDP, flavor 4 on power amp.

I have several other ac tweaks installed including Alan Maher's parallel choke. I've also tried to address RFI/EMI through the use of speaker cable filters (zobel networks) at the amp and speaker end, and the use of quartz amethyst crystals at strategic spots.

Although all of the above has been effective, the crystals have yielded the biggest improvement in terms of cleaning up a stridency I didn't know was there until it was gone!

    Cheers,

    Fred

I found this this power cord being thrown out. It was attached to an 8 track player. I could see all the wires, and many of them were frayed, but I plugged it in and it worked, so that's what I use.

Seriously, it's something I haven't even gotten into. I have one Pangea, and the rest are just stock cords that came with whatever I bought. Only reason I got the Pangea was because I bought a preamp that did not come with a power cord.

Ok, I'm really new to the 'upgraded' power cords. I understand that if your using a PC that is too small (generates heat, etc) that this may affect current quality, and therefore sound quality. I'm not saying this phenomenon doesn’t exist. I know that cables used for interconnects, speakers, etc. can make a large difference, but this has been documented not only objectively (and your specific choice will vary depending upon your equipment, room, audio preferences, etc.), but subjectively as well (i.e. the measurements DarqueKnight did with AI-1 Dreadnaught project). Has anyone done any subjective tests on PC’s?
SDA SRS modded: X’ovrd, de-polyed, inductorized, interconnectorized, re-posted, dynamited, RDO’d, spiked, gasketed, ringed (Larry's), and grill cloth blinged! Done this on my own? Not a chance. Thanks to Raife and all who forged easy to follow upgrades. At least a 100% improvement in sound and my personal listening pleasure! :cheesygrin:Pass XP-10 preamp, Parasound A21 amp, Pioneer Elite DV-58AV (Ric Shultz modded), Audioquest Sky IC's, No longer need my Sunfire sub after mods...
