RT800i as rear surround in 7.1 system?

Hi:
I've had a pair of RT800i as my front L/R speakers for several years now. I've just ordered a pair of TSI500s as my new fronts. Because of the setup in my apartment, it actually makes sense to have floor standing speakers as the rear surrounds that I want to use in going from a 5.1 to 7.1 setup. Ceiling speakers won't work for me (I have 14 ft ceilings) and I have a personal aesthetic aversion to placing bookshelf speakers on stands.
Any thoughts on doing this?
Thanks!

You will be just fine. Its my opinion that surround speakers are not as critical to a home theater system when compared to a center, and the two fronts. For one, rear surrounds don't carry much of the load and are not very demanding. Most of a movie track is coming from your center.LIVING ROOM:
