Trying to go a new direction with my home theater and its time to try something new. I have to move gear in order to fund new gear, or so says the wife. So I am trying to see if anyone has interest in the following items:
Outlaw 950 preamp: there are only 2 issues with this at all and they DO NOT affect functionality at all. The display on the front panel is less bright in the middle and the volume knob does not work correctly when manually turning up and down the volume. It jumps a bit. Both are known issues with these [reamps. It has been in my home theater for about 2 years. The last 5 on ebay have sold between $180 and $210. Looking for $175 plus shipping.
B&K AV5000 5 Channel amp: I bought this off of MKZ off of the forum here. the only issue I have had is that I had to replace a fuse that blew when I was switching out some wires. This is a great amp for HT and never broke a sweat driving my home theater. I have had PSB's, various Polks and other brands of speakers hooked up and each time, it brought out much more clarity, bass response and detail compared to running it with an avr. Not really sure what to ask for this, but I know that i paid $400.
Here is a link to the original sale thread http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?t=70234. It looks the same as it did then. Shipping could be a killer on this so lets say $325 and I will split shipping.
Again, this is a feeler thread. If there is genuine interest, let's talk. If not, I may just have to keep it and discontinue my pursuit for a new system.

Would this amp be a good match for my HT setup? Looking to add an amp and I have been reading every amp thread that I can. I have never had an amp before and I live in the middle of nowhere so I can't really go and listen to many different setups.
My setup is in my signature. Just looking for any advice/opinions..AVR: Pioneer Elite SC-67

I PM'ed you back. I thgink it would open up your speakers and give it a more dynamic sound if that makes sense. After I went to separates, it definitely became more clear and little nuances of sound that I never noticed were there afterwards. Many can probably comment as to whether or not this particular amp will be an upgrade over the internals of the Onkyo, but you could use your onkyo as a processor with the amp.
Hope this helps,
ShawnShawn

That's a GREAT amplifier.
MU - You have a helluva subwoofer and I like the rest of your choices as well.....this is a no-brainer. This would be the kicker for your HT. Why not larger front speakers? ....just wondering. Would you mind posting you review and/or comments about the OWM's in the product pages area of the website? We need some more reviews and I'd personally be interested in your thoughts.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint. -
It really is a great amp. I picked one up myself a few weeks ago. If you open it up, you'll immediately notice four HUGE capacitors just beyond the giant transformer. These caps are literally bigger than a coke can in circumference. Plenty of power in reserve when needed with those babies. At that price, I'd snag it for sure."I did not slap you. I high-fived your face."

I originally bought the RTiA3's when I was married and the WAF was pretty high on the list. I have been looking at some of the the upper RTiA series speakers on Polk Direct and just haven't pulled the trigger on anything. I am pretty pleased with what I have now. Just looking to upgrade a piece at a time. I haven't purchased anything since my Popcorn Hour player last winter so it's time to add another piece to the system.
I'm one to really look for used/refurbished items (still haven't had a problem with a single piece of equipment, knock on wood). So I'm just biding my time to pick up the right piece at the right price.
This B&K sounds like a great amp for me to start out with and at very good price. I just hope that he can sell the Outlaw Pre so that he'll be able to sell the B&K to me....

As long as I can sell the outlkaw pre, mu gets the amp if he wants it. I don't have anything to replace the amp/pre yet, but if or when I do I will be glad to sell them independently of each other.Shawn

OK, just figured I'd ask. It would definitely start to bring you into a new level of audio. As far as doing one piece at a time, that's smart. Good luck and Shawn is a solid dude.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers?
