This seller is Directed Electronics -

My buddy wanted a center channel that he had along with some surrounds. The Center channel was a DIY kit.

Here are the weird issues I have had so far...

1) He sent me two tweeters with the DIY kit (I notified him of this)
2) The parts to the kit were packaged so poorly that the grill was broke in half
3) The seller makes you request tracking numbers, just a minor inconvenience for me as I never remember to ask and most sellers automatically give it to you.
4) Requires direct signature on anything and everything. A major inconvenience.
5) He only sent me one surround speaker (I know, I know - NOT a big deal right???)

Alot of it is nit pick - but I am more so warning you guys that whatever warehouse or whatever he ships out of is so out of wack.. jeez

Other than that the products have been as advertised and the prices are decent.

Enjoy

Just ordered something from him on thursday and he stated the items are repackaged from DT's factory. I've heard nothing but good things about the seller. Only negative is no warranty but half off it's a risk worth taking.

    Oh yes -- another issue...

The surround speakers which were repackaged DT refurbs ---

It was one speaker in a Fedex box -- not the factory box resealed that he specified.

I must have hit him at a bad time where no one follows instructions but it has been a nightmare for me.

Ordered some definitive tens from him on Thursday and they showed up Monday in perfect condition in the original factory box. It was a refurb but everything looked brand new.

At his low prices I'll definitely buy from him again.

I have been debating on getting 10's or the new slim Mythos XTR for my rear surrounds, let me know how you like the 10's.

I found out (today actually) that if it's FedEx, and the expected day of delivery you know you'll be at work or away and it's sig req'd, the receiver of the package can re-route the package to a FedEx Office location for pickup.

You just go into the FedEx website and input the tracking number and it gives you the option in there.

The tens sound outstanding, but can't understand why they retail for so much. Almost $1000 is very expensive IMO. I only paid $486 for them, now that's more like it.

All in all it has exceeded my expectations. I was playing around with the ST's and hooked it up to my 2 channel setup and I was very very Impressed. Only thing I'm needing now is a nice amp and pre amp with HT bypass to run along side my Pioneer elite. Thinking of Halo A52/p7 combo.

What are you using now for surrounds?

That's actually what I had to do. I missed him twice and just went online and selected hold at fedex. It took less than 2 minutes.

Another DT convert. I know I love mine, and I'll assume that Mantis still likes his. Good 2 ch. and GREAT HT speakers.

DT had their own licensed dealers, i used to have to file their product orders when they were definitive tech... :)
i highly doubt that one of the licensed dealers was using ebay.. especially with that name

Bajawaverunner IS Directed Electronics who OWNS Definitive Technology...

I should know - my Paypal went straight to Directed.

    ;)

Not to mention the seller also has access to every DT B Stock and Replacement part under the sun.

How about that for paying attention, SON?

Hey there Vr, I also ordered some of the 10" passive radiators for their little monitor speakers and they were brand new I guess lol they looked new. only gripe for me was that he didn't answer any questions on Ebay but did answer an email. i got the radiators and put them on my towers and they worked nicely. am thinking about buying something from him again soon.

I hope everything for you turned out ok. I see he did help you in over nighting a speaker you ordered from him. pretty good stuff. sorry this is so late lol

I have ordered a few things from Baja since this thread and other than everything is an inconvenience (small parts are direct signature, blah blah) I have no complaints.. I just hate I have to have a DIRECT* signature for a 30 dollar part. Just stupid

I have to be here to sign for it...

I do not like when people do that for things under 100 dollars as that seems silly...

I can understand more expensive items - but 100 or less... yeah not needed and just a pain in the rear. I know I can get it scheduled to go to a fed ex facility but again - I dont feel it to be necessary to have to go out of my way to pick up a 100 dollar item...

Before fed ex will hand the package over you have to be at home and sign for it.

I don't like to speak for other people, but I think his talking about a signature is required for the item to be released, as in you can't just leave it in front of the house or with the neighbors if you aren't home. I could be wrong.

I agree with ya on that. I HATE having to sign for a cheap package. Even setting it up to go get it myself is a pain because the closest location is about 20 miles away into a traffic nightmare. I'm almost never home when they come by either. Can be very annoying.

Hey it's cool, same to you Leroy. I just forgot I signed for the passives I got from them.
Kinda dumb signing for the cheap stuff but whatever works I guess. likes been said, the products are all like brand new, I didn't know they were refurbished until I read it on another forum.

yup its a xtra cost option the seller can request that the receiver( buyer) is the only one that can get the item soooo if the buyer is not home he gets a slip that states your item has arrirrved and you need to go to the local fedex location and sign for it than they give it to you
    or...
indirect signature that means the neighbor can sign for it .

So why did you order from him again, especially after bashing the guy in your OP? Just curious.

A direct signature usally means only the addressee can sign for it. Not your wife or brother-in-law or anyone else at the address. That would also include a receptionist at work or co-worker, etc. if it was shipped to your work.

Signature required usually means anyone at the address at the time of delivery can sign for it if they choose to.
