Kind of a quiet night at the Hardy household. Mrs. H is doing end of the year charitable contributions and I am... kind of bored. We're sitting in front of a fire (in the fireplace) with cheezy 50s and 60s Christmas music playing.

Decided to prowl around my Photobucket account and see if I could find something different to post.

I need to live someplace with more than 45 minutes of sunshine a day near the winter solstice! ;-)

How abou this guy? The other Fisher 500. OK, one of the other Fisher 500 models, a 500-T (I think). Pretty much a piece of early soiled state junk, but it is sooo cute...

Perpetual darkness in da basement, so I've almost gotta use a flash or depend (as in this case) on ambient fluorescent light.

Our son has the nice DSLR (and is also actually a very competent photographer), so I have to rely on him to take the occasional nice photo :-)

Super! I love your pics and gear. That Sherwood must be way before my time. I've never seen Sherwood of that vintage. 50's-60's Christmas music through vintage gear by the fireplace. That's what I'm talking about .

Nice CLEAN examples of each. How does the Sherwood stack up against your CA800? .

The Sherwood is not a bad amp at all; it's one of the later (ca. 1980) Korean-built Sherwoods. Not up to the CA-800 (which is an excellent sounding piece of hardware), but perfectly respectable. The Sherwood's ensconced in our son's room (doesn't get much use anymore as he is off in grad school).

ahem that's a Pioneer rack. :-) Not a big Pioneer fan in general; there is an RT-909 in it, though.

    I've got a spare :-p

The TASCAM and the Pioneer are both quite nice decks; too bad Pioneer made a deck with 10-1/2" reel capability but without 15 ips.

Actually that's tempting because there is too much stuff around here. Need to offload some of the junk over the next few years.

Just an outlet box/surge suppressor I bought recently from (IIRC) PartsExpress. Nothing special, it was cheap and it works.
