Turntable Purchase Help

Hey Guys,
I have about $2,100 to $2,800 spend on a new Turntable. My only experience previously with TTs is a Pro-ject RM5 SE which I felt produced superb sound when paired with a Blue Point No.2 Cartridge and Jolida JD9A Phono pre. Now that I got my Prism Orpheus, I want to get a TT that can really take advantage of this cutting edge phono section. I've been looking at VPI, but the mixing and matching is a little intimidating. Are there any other brands that will best my RM5SE, or should I just stick with Pro-ject? I like the fact that the Pro-ject gear comes with cartridge installed. Any help would be much appreciated.
Regards,
Mike

I feel weird buying a used TT. TTs are such precise instruments that I can't hep but want a warranty. Besides, F1Nut said not to long ago that buying a used TT is normally not a very good idea. He's given me audio advice in the past and it is usually spot on. I'm afraid if I buy used, I'll only prove him right.

The new VPI Classic is one of the highest rated tables in it's price range going. I think it would work wonderfully with almost any phono stage. If I could afford one I'd be all over it.

I think the two best TT deals under $3K are the Marantz TT-15 and the VPI Classic. Both are simply great tables for the money.
