A/V Wall plates

Besides being great for looks, do these create any noticable signal loss. I plan to extend all pre-installed speaker wires from inside walls/ceiling from their current output junction. I will extend them down length of wall to alcove next to fireplace, where all A/V equipment will be houses. I plan to use a wall plate here to tidy up wires.

I am concerned about any possible signal loss. I also do not currently known what guage wire they have used when installed.

Thank you!!!

I use Leviton quick port plates (HD carries) with speaker banana jacks, I tinned soldered the speaker wire which is behind it and its screwed to the jack. Love the look and feel it hasn't given me any signal loss.

Best is to just have a hole in the wall, but that looks like crap, even with a nice routing plate.

That is my approach if I can get away with it. Usually the cables are coming out of the plate where the equipment stack is. So it is out of sight, out of mind.

I was never a fan of the plates were it is a nanner on the inside. Just peg it with a soldering iron and be done. I use a butane iron for that stuff.

I also use Leviton and have noticed no noticeable signal degradation or loss....and it's been years. I do not solder my wall plates, that's silly.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.
