Reel to reel value

I was just curious about the value of old equipment. I had a 1970 vintage Akai reel to reel unit that also had a 8 track player built into the side. It had a interesting "Crossfield" head set up that allowed you to switch tracks. I threw it out a few years back but it was still operational. Did I screw up? I have no idea what the model number was.
Thanks
Thanks

I have various original recordings. Can't remember the titles. Some Doors, Chicago, Herbie Mann, ect... I have two or three blanks. Realistic stuff. Nothing fancy.Things are more like they are now than they ever will be! -
Around here I've seen them run from $25 to $750.
Most have been in the $200-400 range for good working gear with a few tapes.
At that price-PASS. Back in the 70's I wanted one in the worst way, but never seemed to get one. I had one on back order for months that never happened.
I believe it was a Teac, the model escapes me now. I'd go back to
vinyl before tape anymore. I think I'm finally over that old crap.
Otherwise, I'd be about knee deep in the stuff. I've had a couple of garage
sale finds that were cheap in vintage audio, but I got rid of everything
but a H/K receiver. I never understood people paying big $$$ for
some of this old stuff. But you see guys mining for gold with them
on CL and Ebay all the time. You could buy modern quality gear for the same price."The legitimate powers of government extend to such acts only as are injurious to others. But it does me no injury for my neighbour to say there are twenty gods, or no god. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg." --Thomas Jefferson -
I have an RTR in GA but I don't have any tapes. Just something I would like to check out.

It's the whole "one mans hamburger" thing. At least we have choices! There is one piece of equipment I wish I still had. It was also 1970 vintage. A Sansui 4000 reciever. Power was good but damn! That thing had a tuner in it that would pick up the Voyager space probe! I remember fondly tuning in a FM station in Little Rock. I am in Minneapolis! Basicly stations all down the Mississippi river. That was cool!Things are more like they are now than they ever will be!
