First real surround setup

Hi, I got questions on how I have my surround hooked up, first off I have a TSI 500's for fronts and the cs20 for center and tsi 200's for surrounds, psw125 for sub all powered with avr-1910 denon, now I know receiver is weak, would the avr-4311 be ok? also I read on denons site that it is preferred to set all speakers to small if a sub is present, is this true in my case considering my setup? One last question my room is about 20 by 15ft but have an opening that leads to something like a hallway and then an open staircase going up stairs and i know i am losing alot of sound having this open, opening out of the room is about 4-5ft wide. what would be the best, simplest, and cheapest way of closing this opening? would appreciate the help, thanks Ryan

I would think that the 1910 would drive the TSi500's fine. If you wanted to upgrade to the 4311 that would just be icing on the cake. The TSi line is easy to drive and I have had no complaints with my TSI400s and my 3310.

As to the Large / Small question. While you could call them Large if you really wanted to, the general consensus of online opinion seems to be that you almost never call your Fronts Large unless you have something really big and don't have a sub.

I have no answer for your hole question. But is it really causing a problem with your sound? I have a rather odd shaped room myself with an upstairs stairway for my HT room. Definitely not ideal, but that's the room that was given the OK. I found that with Audessy, I was able to tune it into my viewing area and still have more than satisfactory results.
