so i recently upgraded my whole system from an onkyo htib to a much nicer setup with monitor 50s for fronts, cs1 center, monitor 30s for rears and a so so hdmi pioneer receiver. I can not figure out how to mount these monitor 30s to make them look good. I did not realize they would be so deep, im thinking of doing shelves, but not sure. can you guys post pics of how you have your monitors or really any large bookshelf speakers displayed either for front or rears. that would really help me out, ive tried google image search and found nothing. also how big of a difference does it make if my center channel is not at ear level and about 15-18" higher. I have it on top of my entertainment center because it is so large.

i have shelves im going to be using for mine along with anti-vib mats on the bottoms of them.
as for the center channel, does it sound good where it is to you? affect imaging at all? if YOU are happy with it, that is what matters. for me if it doesnt sound like the sound is coming from the middle of the TV, im not happy lol

I have two bookshelves over 3' high on either side of my couch. The M30s sit there (on top of the bookshelf a little out from the wall) and make for a nice aesthetic as well as a decent placement.
Whatever works....just get them high enough.

I've got a pair of RTi4s ceiling mounted over my couch.

The RTi4s are an inch taller and deeper than the Monitor 30s.

B-Tech BT-77. The best mount for almost any bookshelf depending on the size but they handle large sizes as well.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

It's the 'family room' off of the kitchen. The backwall is only 14'.

I use 'em for my RTi4s. They haven't fallen off the wall yet. -
This is what my RTi4s used to look like on the front of my set up using the B-Tech-77:

The B-Tech's only angle down 15-degrees, so if you need to mount your Monitor 30's up high then you may not get them to fire into your listening area at the right spot. But they work *great* for front wall mounts!

I have a pretty similar setup to you (except r15s instead of m30s but they are very similar speakers), and I just use old fashion nails and they seem to do the job fine. If you have the extra cash for ceiling or wall mounts though that would be your best option. Don't go for stands.AVR: H/K AVR240
