The Doors' Ray Manzarek talks about what happened in Miami and (starting at roughly the 6 minute mark) how John Coltrane influenced the writing of the song "Light My Fire"....

    Nice find, Mr. Tse.

Listening to Ray Manzarek talk was pretty enlightening, how The Doors took "Light My Fire" and changed it from a Sonny n' Cher, upbeat, scooby song into bluesy, psychodelic "Light My Fire".

Was thinking that Ray Manzarek and Mitch Mitchell had some things in common: Both were very talented, both played "behind" front men ( in Mitchell's case, Jimi Hendrix) who marched to the beat of a different drum (no pun intended).
Yet they not only "kept up", they excelled.
