Monitor 50's as surround?

I currently own Monitor 60's front, CS2II center, Yamaha 250W sub, Yamaha rx667 90X7w receiver and was going to buy monitor 40's as surrounds on newegg for $120 (as of an hour ago). I'm moving next month and prefer to not wall mount. I was looking for stands, but now I'm seeing the monitor 50's for $163 on the egg for the next 24 hours or so.

I guess my question is, do you think the 50's are too much speaker for rear surround with my setup?

Thanks, Khan

Nah, many folks have used floorstanding's as rear's and they work just fine. Enjoy!

Cool, I probably couldn't have found stands or mounts for less than $40 anyways. 50's it is. Thanks, I just needed one confirmation that I wasn't being an idiot. I'm kinda new at this.

NP, and you could have used the AM40 Pinpoint mounts for the 40's but they are about 50ish so you are correct..

Thanks for the input guys. The 50's will be here tommorrow or the next day. I'll run it 5.1 until I can justify spending more on the 30's or 40's. I haven't even got a blueray yet. I wasn't even planning on building a new system for a year or two but I kept coming across deals that I can't refuse....:frown:
