I get goose bumps when listening to Mahler.

The equipment used for play back doesn't matter, but live music for me is the best for the bumps.

I bet most all the people on this forum have music selections that give them the bumps.

Please share.

I also bet we all have different music favorits.

    This one always makes me tear up a little !:biggrin:

    ```````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
    I'm sitting alone on a Saturday night, watching the late, late show
    A bottle of wine, some cigarettes, I got no place to go
    Well I saw your other man today, he was wearing my brand new shoes
    And I'm down to seeds and stems again too
    Well I met my old friend Bob today, from up in Bowling Green
    He had the prettiest little gal, that I'd ever seen
    But I couldn't hide my tears at all, 'cause she looked just like you
    And I'm down to seeds and stems again too
    Now everybody tells me, that there's other ways to get high
    They don't seem to understand, I'm too far gone to try
    Now these lonely memories, there all that I can do
    And I'm down to seeds and stems again too
    Oh, my dog died just yesterday, left me all alone
    The finance company dropped by today, and repossessed my home
    That's just a drop in the bucket, compared to losing you
    And I'm down to seeds and stems again too
    Got the down to seeds and stems again blues
    Funny you should ask this.
    I just went to test a cd changer and put in a cd I just bought at a goodwill or thrift store this past week or two.
    Etta James Live with the Riots I think., "Burnin down the house".
    I was blown away by what I was hearing out of my newly aquired Polk monitor 5's.
    Well, when the song "All the way down" started playing I thought ok, jungle sounds kindof but it quickly turned into something palatable. I started to rock my head and then my shoulders and then the rest of my body started moving on it's own. I noticed I had goose bumps on my head and neck and shoulders too.
    Wierd.
    http://www.legacyrecordings.com/music/etta-james/burnin-down-the-house
    Few songs do that to me...seriously. I don't dance!!!
    So I know I get goose bumps from Celine Dions' "O holy night" almost everytime without fail.
    A couple of girl singers from those Cough COUGH talet shows have done it to. But I have my sound system on when those shows are on just incase I want to hear what they could sound like on a home system. Some were quite moving. That little tiny girl was one I remember well.
    No tears yet but my wife makes up for my share..!
    I get goosebumps when I hear classical music that I have performed before because it helps me remember what it was like to perform it. Two pieces that are particularly moving for me - Beethoven Missa Solemnis Gloria movement...the finale that repeats the opening theme of the movement, but much faster. The second is the Soprano solo in the Brahms Requiem. Goosebumps everytime :)
    I had the goose bumps last night watching Roger Waters perform The Wall live. I was moved to tears when he played Vera Lynn and they showed video of soldiers returning home to their families on the Wall. Extraordinarily moving. Vera Lynn segued into Bring The Boys Back Home and I was almost balling.
    First we have Richard Wagner on Sheffield Labs direct to disc; the part where Siegfried breaks through the clouds on his horse just raises two inch goosebumps and a tear or two FULL BLAST! Ed Savignon can attest to that.
    [IMG][/img]Vagner.jpg
    Second we have the flip side of Telarc's 1812 Overture, Capriccio Italien; Cossack Dance, FULL BLAST it takes you to heights of goosebumpidum and tear raising on a large scale.
    [IMG][/img]1812.jpg
    Both on vinyl and both give the effects where the SACD/CD doesn't.
    Yes, I agree.
    What is amazing to me is the wide variety of music that gives us each the bumps.
    I want to listen some of the selections.
    For me to get the bumps I also need a quiet place with few or no distractions.
    songs that have instruments that emulate the human voice...singers that impress with their instrument. songs that have dynamics, going soft to loud to emphsize wtf...most anything in a minor key, that leaves alot to the mind..leaving 'holes' allows the listener to fill in the blanks..
