Once again, my comment to x was not a bash because it is a fact. Just like if I said that you don't know anything about quality sound. That's not a bash, it's a fact.

When I bash someone, there's no mistake about it.

Just for the record I don't hate EMO. I just prefer to get much better for the same price if you shop in the used market:wink:

I'm in 100% agreement with you if you can get the right used piece at the right price.

There's a new guy at AH that was asking about a 5 channel Rotel vs an Emotiva that he can get for half the price of the Emo. Everyone there told him to run and snatch it up. Me included.

But it doesn't mean that Emo is a piece of junk. Unless my needs change I can deal with the short comings of my 5503. They are beasts with plenty of power, low THD and available left and right for ~$400-450'ish. What's not to like about that?

But if someone is new to all this, on a budget, and a bit wary of used then I would hands down encourage them to TRY an Emotiva. I personally couldn't find a fault with the XPA-3 and I had a few other amps and a receiver to compare it to. YMMV.

It's a dis-service to discourage people from experimentation and evaluation.

I personally just purchased an Xpa5, and as soon as my interconnects & speaker wires arrive I will be forming my own opinions with my Lsi's. The Emotiva Xpa5 amp offered 2 out of the 3 things that were important in my buying decision. #1 Warranty. #2 Well priced. The #3 thing I desired was an amp with a time proven reliability. Close enough. Guys, every company has to start somewhere. Emotiva needs time to develop a reputation whether positive or negative. Maybe they will improve on the distortion ratings. Besides, if I don't like it back it goes. Hey who ever thought Tom Brady, at the 199 pick in the 6th round, would ever be as good as he is today!

Please to the rest of the mature acting active members and the guests of this forum a big favor and grow up and act like adults.

You need these to go from the receiver to the amp.

    http://www.bluejeanscable.com/store/audio/index.htm
or you can use Monoprice.com http://www.monoprice.com/products/department.asp?c_id=102

and regular speaker wire from amp to speakers.
