Anthem multi-channel amp

I'm looking for an Anthem mca 3, 5, 30 or 50 amp.
I have an Anthem avm 20 and an mca 20 and I want to use them for my ht setup.
I would probably prefer a 3 or 5 only because I'm a cheap-**** and would be using it for the center and surrounds.
Thanks,
Brian

Why not sell and get a full boat?CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

I have an MCA50 for $1000, it's in fabulous condition with original box, manual, cord, shipping materials etc. I can deliver it or meet you part way;Current System:

I think the mca 50 is more of a pipe dream for me unless I can steal one on CL.
I'll actually be up in Mass. next month but a grand is just way out of my budget. -
If you need 5 channels total you can likely get 500-600 for your MCA20, then maybe an MCA50 is poorer condition for 900ish, which isn't such a stretch. What is your budget, and do you have any other gear you don't need that you might be interested in trading? I'm always looking for new things to listen to and I've always got a treasure trove of amplifiers to choose from. PM meCurrent System:

Open to other multichannel amps as well.
Rotel, Parasound, etc. -
Found a Parasound HCA-1205a on CL.

The one with the dead channel right? I warn you, that circuit board is covered in electrolyte that was leaked from the capacitors. It's a fantastic deal but the capacitors on the dead channel are blown, so i'd check the others out to be safeCurrent System:

I pulled the cover off today.
It's not electrolyte, it's actually the epoxy that they use for securing the caps to the board.
They used copious amounts of that brown stuff on a few different components such as the thermal switches on the heat sinks.
Tony from Parasound sent me the schematics for it so I'm going to troubleshoot it in the next week or so.
I'm not doubting that it may have a bad cap but I'm leaning more toward a bad transistor. -
Most likely bad cap. If you were closer I could help:frown:Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
Thanks

I had an HCA-1205A and had studied the internals. So when that particular one came up for sale with a bad channel I was the first person to write him to buy it, if it weren't so out of the way I would have, I really liked the Parasound. But I asked if he would check the internal fuses for me, and it blows fuses immediately when powered on. So I got him to send me a picture of the board for that channel:
Doesn't look corroded like a leak but at the same time it seems odd that they would use it on just a few parts. I did not see it anywhere on the 1205A I had ownedCurrent System:

I finally got a chance to dig into the 1025a amp and found that two transistors were shorted(2sa1386 and 2sc3519).
I swapped the transistors from another channel and the channel that was blowing the fuses is working great.
I ordered the transistors today.
A $5 fix and I'll have 5 working channels again
