About to create custom home theater...Need Advice!!
Hello. I am about to begin working on my home theater room. I already have a7.1 channel system pre-wired into the room from pre-construction, but no enclosures. I recently purchased two TC265i's, LCi-C and a PSW 125 sub ($50 with promotion). I plan on getting for RC80i's for the rear surrounds.
I was hoping to gain some insight on the speaker connectivity and harmony. Would there be a signigfcant problem for having the above set up? I know the timbre's are not matched.
In regards to installation, do you guys recommend placing insulation around the speakers and fill wall cavities with some as well? I read that since the TC265's use the wall enclosure for bass, I did not want to impede the speakers design purpose. If so, will R-11 rolled insualtion work well??
Any feedback will greatly be appreciated. Thank you all.

Insulation would provide some dampening. The speaker would trade off some boominess for a little tighter operation. While not needed here is what you could really consider: LCi Performance Enclosures or some other back box. -
Any walls that I have done in-walls for I have added insulation or a back box. You don't want the speaker in an empty wall cavity.

Will the insulation take away from the "Infinite Baffle Tuning " design Polk engineered? OR would stuffing wall cavity and just leaving space behind speaker with out insulation, improve the sound and bass? I want the bass output, but do not want to sacrifice audio quality for it.
I would have loved to have enclosures built in. I have looked at duramat and other enclosures, but pricing is too much. Wife already can not get her head around me spending $1000 on just L/R/C channels (plus free sub). I have to do this econmically. What type of insulation do you guys suggest? R-11?
If I have to build a box behind, any recommendations??
Thank you for your help!!! -

Infinite baffle refers to the fact that the speaker is flush mounted to the wall.
Any surface that a speaker radiates from is a baffle. Some are infinite (like a wall) and some are not (like a 9 inch wide speaker cabinet).
When a speaker is mounted in a traditional speaker cabinet baffle step compensation is built into the crossover.
Here is a good lay persons read on BSC. -

You wouldn't build anything. Just purchase some back boxes that will work with your inwalls. Try Partsexpress.com. Give them a call and they should be able to help.
R 11 would be fine. Just normally line the wall cavity as you normally would.
