Watched last night. Some good Ranger training and combat scenes and use of automatic weapons. Audio is pretty awesome for both surrounds and bass. The scene where the phosphorous grenade goes off just about blew my shirt off. Weapons fire is realistic and loud. Chopper scenes are throaty and bassy and pan from the rear/side channels really well. This movie benefits from running in EX Matrix mode providing great rear surround action, even though it doesn't flag that way.

Requires you to pay atttention, as this is a "whodunnit" and there are three different versions of what really happened played out in the movie. And THEN when you think you got it figured out, it throws you for a major loop anyway.

It got panned by the critics, but I thought it was a pretty cool, if somewhat unrealistic movie. Travolta is convincing and performances are decent but not awe inspiring all around.

Definitely a rental for action war movie and whodunnit buffs - 7/10.

Rented and watched too, what a supprise ending. Not bad for a $1 rental. Hey, we have a DVD rental store (wherehousemusic)over here in town, any DVD including new release for $1 a day. I'm no longer buying new DVD without rent it first...

I bought it, just because I like Samuel Jackson. After watching it twice, I don't regret it. You have too wathc it a couple of times just to ctach on to everything.

And Doc, that grenade is a big 'un ain't it...
