Definitive word on SRS2 TL possibilities?

This is what I have gathered using the search function:

1) It seems as though the blade/blade version can in fact be TL'd.

2) It also appears as though it's either impossible to TL the pin/blade version, or that no one has yet endeavored with enough conviction to do so.

Do I have this situation properly understood?

My reasons for asking are likely transparent. I have the pin/blade SRS2 and would like it very much if a TL procedure became available. Hopefully someone will come up with a viable solution at some point.

My understanding is that the pin/blade can be TL'd and the blade/blade cannot. I also understand that there are some pin/blade, such as the SDA-1c's that cannot be TL'd as well. Hopefully someone will chime in with information specific to your speaker.

Jesse would know, But I thought both could be TL'ed. I do know both P/B B/B 2B's can be TL'ed.

I know a couple of the guys have TL's their SRS2's, BUT this mod has not been approved by Polk nor has any real testing been done such as frequency plots, etc.

My SRS 2 crossovers are being done by Ben as we speak. Jesse, what is involved in doing the frequency plots you mentioned? After they have broken in sufficiently, maybe I could do a plot, and post it so it could be available.

Is it known whether or not their SRS2's were pin/blade or blade/blade? I followed inspiredsports's threads on his blade/blade SRS2, but hadn't seen any pin/bladers giving it a try.

I venture to bet that the overwhelming majority of folks could not tell the difference between TL'd SRS2's and fully/properly upgraded SRS2's with RDO-194's.

Maybe the RDO-194/SL-2000 SRS2 owners should spend the money else where like IC's or cables. I know I know the answer is "DO EVERYTHING" and do it now.

They've had the SL2000 replacement tweeters installed. Solves some problems and introduces some others.

I'll probably just take this question to a personal message level.

    Thanks.

Wanted to throw my 2 cents in the ring. I will be the proud owner of the SRS 2 Pin/Blade as of tonight around 7:00 PM! Anyways... I am going to be getting the crossovers upgraded by Ben, and would REALLY like to TL these if at all possible. I was given the email of the lead engineer at Polk and I have sent him an email asking about the possibilities of this mod for the P/B version. Hopefully I will hear back soon and we will have an official answer from Polk!
