Could you please share your experience with Onkyo A-5VL.
I can't find anyone carrying it for a demo...
I plan on using FLAC files from a computer as the ONLY source
to a 2-channel stereo system with bookshelf speakers (Totem, Polk or Focal) in a small room.
Having a good sounding 2-channel integrated amp with a built-in TOSLINK input is a huge advantage.
The Onkyo A-5VL can be had for just $300-$400 new, but I can't find much user info about it (which might by itself be speaking loudly).
Thanks for sharing.

WELCOME TO CLUB POLK!
I second tonyb's suggestion. I haven't heard that Onkyo but I have heard it's bigger brother, the A9555--which has similar design features but more power. Unfortunately, it has no digital inputs. But as far as sound goes, for the 400 plus dollars that you can buy it for, NEW, it's a nice sounding unit--best paired with brighter speakers!
cnhCurrently orbiting Bowie's Blackstar.!
