Very Nice Sonic Frontiers Anthem integrated 2 hybrid

This a very nice Anthem Integrated 2 hybrid integrated amp. It was made 1997 to around 2001 by Sonic Frontiers ( before they switched their name) and at 38lbs it is built like a tank . It is a tube preamp with solid state power amp rated at 90 watt per channel into 8 ohms and 145 into 4 ohms and puts out more. it seems to be able to drive difficult loads with ease. It has 4 inputs, one set of speaker terminals and a procceser loop as well as remote control and detachable power cord. Ibn great shape and everything works as it should. Includes original Sovtek tubes and a fraily new pair of what I believe are Mulards if your into tube switching. Very easy to do. New $1700 to $1800 Asking $675 Thanks, keith

One of the best integrated amplifiers I've owned.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

It's got a pretty nice volume pot to boot....and a headphone amplifier built-in, wired off the driver tubes. REALLY great piece. $675? That's a steal to say the least.

Throw in a Mullard pair and I'd be surprised you resell it in a couple years.

Huh? thats just silly thinking

I am using a 35 wpc amp on a pair of SRS originals and it will knock you out of your seat at half volume.

Well, I just pulled off the impossible by doing a double-blind comparison all by myself, purely by virtue of the fact that I completely and stupidly forgot what I did last. I guess that getting old does have its advantages after all :D

basically an Anthem Pre2l with an amp section I assume? (looks EXACTLY like my Anthem pre 2 l with speaker terminals)

that is NOT a bad thing.......the pre2l is an awesome preamp. Interesting biamp abilities with those Preouts. awesome piece.

It wasn't long ago that i believed the myth of higher wattage=higher quality. I ended up using 30W with fabulous results.
