I am noob to the forum, but I have read the forum for quite a while. I have been working on my HT system for the past year or so. I am considering buying an amp to supplement my system, but I am not sure if it will make a huge quality difference. I thought I would ask the experts.

Here is my current 7.1 set up:

Onkyo TXNR-1007
Fronts: RTI-A9
Center: CSI-A6
Surround Back/Sides: FXI-A4
Sub: 10" infinity

I don't want to drop a lot of cash on an amp (less than 1,000), but would it be worth it to wait until I can? Would an amp make a dramatic difference in the over all sound quality? I live in a very rural area and there are no high end audio stores within 100 miles or so.

I personally would go with a 2 channel and a 5 channel amp. I have a friend who just hooked up just about the same setup and those A9 can take plenty of power. Others will chime in, but with your budget you could some great 5 channel amps that will give you a nice boost such as rotel b&k, outlaw, nad, sunfire, parasound, etc.
